Policy Initiatives

NCASP is dedicated to developing a comprehensive understanding of our region's atmosphere and creating sensible policy approaches for dealing with intractable issues - such as global climate change and mercury pollution - on the regional scale.   Current focus areas include issues where sound regional information and approaches are critically needed.   These include investigations of atmospheric mercury, constraining trans-boundary fluxes of carbon dioxide, and developing approaches to reduce emissions from the residential heating sector.
